Course Description
This class is to teach your child how to recite with the correct  Al-Tajweed rules so they will be able to recite and memorize correctly Insha'Allah. 


Textbooks and Workbooks
Grades 5-8 are using Al-Qaida Anourania program to learn Tajweed rules. Also they will recite from Al-Quran after finishing the program Insha'Allah. 

Classroom Management

CLASSROOM RULES & EXPECTATIONS 
  • Listen when someone is talking- Quietly raise your hand if you have a question or comment and wait calmly for the teacher to respond. Respect your classmates when they are speaking. Do not whine or complain if the teacher does not respond right away.
  • Follow directions the first time they are given- Arrive to class on-time everyday and be in your seat working on the warm-up activity when the bell rings. Come prepared for class everyday with all of the necessary materials (i.e. pencil, school supplies, worksheets, homework, and proper uniform).
  • Treat everyone with kindness and respect- Respect yourself, your classmates, and your teachers with your words and actions. Do not vandalize, destroy, or steal other people’s personal belongings.
  • Take care of our school and class- Respect your classroom and school environment.

If a student CHOOSES to ignore one of the above expectations: 
  • First Consequence: Verbal Warning 
  • Second Consequence: Written Warning 
  • Third Consequence: Teacher/Parent Contact 
  • Fourth Consequence: Recess Detention and Parent Contact 
  • Fifth Consequence: Recess Detention and Parent Contact 
  • Sixth Consequence: Parent Meeting with Student, Teacher and Administration 
  • Seventh Consequence: After School Detention with Parent Supervision 15 minutes (3:30-3:45) 
  • Eighth Consequence: After School Detention with Parent Supervision 30 minutes (3:30-4:00) 
  • Ninth + Consequence: Administration Discretion 
*We promise to apply ALL consequences FAIRLY and CONSISTENTLY, because we believe your child deserves no less. In addition, we reserve the right to use the above consequences as we believe is most appropriate in any individual circumstance. 

If a student CHOOSES to behave appropriately, he/she will receive one or more of the following positive consequences: 
  • Positive Phone Call Home
  • Positive Note Home
  • Extra-Curricular Time
  • Student/Teacher Generated Rewards
  • Participation in Quarterly Conduct Party

Grade Distribution
Formative (Classwork, Homework): 60%
Summative (Quizzes, Tests): 35%
Quarterly Cumulative Writing Assignment: 5%

Grade Point Scale
A = 90% - 100% 
B = 80% - 89% 
C = 70% - 79% 
D = 60% - 69% 
F = 59% - below
